Your ”yarn stash” will thank you for today’s choice!!
Pick a weight...any weight, grab your DPNs, magic loop, or 9 inch circulars and cast on for “The World’s Simplest Mitts” by Tin Can Knits.
One well written pattern with 4 choices in needle size.
I chose a DK weight yarn and according to the pattern I selected a size # 3 - 9 inch needle to get my mitten started. I personally like yarn that “performs“ while I knit. FYI... That is just a fancy way of saying I get bored easy and like yarn selections that hold my attention with color changes.
Another reason I selected this pattern is because the designer has an accompanying tutorial for adding the thumb gusset.
Need some idea generators... here you go
Hopefully by now...you are sorting through your stash options and making plans to commit to pair of new winter mittens!! Do note that a bulkier yarn selection will make more cozy pair of mittens.
Note that this pattern is a free Ravelry download with a link to a tutorial on how to add a thumb gusset.
Happy project planning!! See you tomorrow with Day 4 of Project Inspiration.
